Cosmo and Sea Holly are the two highland ponies who used to graze in the field in front of the Balquhidder Mhor Teaghlach Lodge. They now have a new home down the road at Monachyle Mhor Hotel, who now offer Pack Pony Walks with them...
The Pony Pack Walks are operated by Rvival, and you can find more details, and book a reservation on one of the tours at Book Experiences - Pack Pony Walks | RVIVAL
This is what Rvival say about the walks:
"Join us for a series of walks and talks with pack ponies, and discover the disappearing tradition of travelling on foot with ponies who once carried goods and supplies across mountain passes.
Along the way, you’ll learn about the heritage of this remarkable breed, the historic herd they descend from, and the vital role pack ponies played in connecting remote communities"
On offer are both short and long walks, and prices start at £30 per person for adults and £15 per person for children, with drinks and snacks included.
Sounds like an excellent day out to explore the Balquhidder Glen and discover the traditional heritage trail.
