There is a beautiful walk, starting in Killin, and following the old railway line along the south side of Loch Tay which takes in a Victorian railway bridge, a confluence of two rivers, and sandy beeches with spectacular views. Killin is about a 15 minute scenic drive from Balquhidder Mhor Lodges.

Balquhidder Church is probably best known for the last resting place of Rob Roy MacGregor, but if you do get a chance to visit, be sure to also take a walk up to the magnificent waterfalls that lie behind the Church.

We have a great photo taken from the top of the hill that can be seen from the decking of both Balquhidder Mhor Lodges, looking directly north from the lodges. The name of the hill is Meall Reamhar. Whilst only 2219 feet tall, it still presents a spectacular view of the snow capped Munros to the north

Both a glen and village, Balquhidder is located west of the A84, between Strathyre and Lochearnhead. The kirkton or village lies at the head of Loch Voil and has the remains of a number of pre-historic sites including a stone circle, the Puidrac Stone, and a Neolithic burial chamber cairn to the east.
