Glorious temperature inversion at Balquhidder Mhor Lodge

posted on

As the Indian summer continues, we have been treated to some spectacular temperature inversions at Balquhidder Mhor Lodge. Here are a few early morning pictures taken from the decking....

Balquhidder Mhor lodge sits at just above 500 feet (160m) above sea level, so we get a great view down into the valley. If we get some high pressure and some cool air in the valley, the mist rises from from Loch Earn, Loch Voil, Loch Lubnaig, and the river tributaries and collects in the valley giving us a spectucular view in the morning. The sun eventually burns off the mist....and it's great to sip a cup of coffee and watch how nature reveals itself!
